systemik supports the energy transition
by bridging the gap between academia, companies and public entities
by bridging the gap between academia, companies and public entities
Our vision
Today's energy systems are responsible for nearly three-quarters of the global greenhouse gas emissions, which drive climate change and affect other planetary boundaries. To address this major challenge, our research group explores possible transition scenarios at different scales and develops the technologies necessary to enable this transition.
We have been analysing the barriers to achieving the energy transition for many years and have made the following observation:
Academia develops cutting-edge knowledge and tools to study the energy transition, but these are often underutilised once research projects come to an end;
Given the scale of this transition and the challenge it represents, companies and public entities frequently look for collaborations with external experts to ensure their projects succeed.
As a university laboratory, we believe that our mission also includes using the outcomes of our research to facilitate this transition by supporting its actors. We therefore decided to launch systemik, an academic engineering and consulting office dedicated to providing services to companies, public entities, and decision-makers.
Our services
We offer a wide range of services:
Tailor-made studies and design of macro- and micro-scale multi-energy systems under uncertain techno-economic conditions, ranging from national energy systems down to specific industrial processes;
Design, optimisation and experimental characterisation of energy conversion and storage technologies, including heat engines, bio- and e-fuels, heat pumps, thermal storage, etc.;
Training sessions and delivery of state-of-the-art reviews on advanced energy-related topics.
